Vocal knowledge is vocal power
Estill Voice Training (EVT) uses science to help you understand your voice.
Unlike teaching methods based mainly on sensation or personal preference, EVT provides tools that can help everyone develop and discover their own beautiful voice.
By analyzing the process of voice production and learning how to consciously control individual structures, you can develop greater control over your voice.
This system was established in 1988 by American voice specialist Jo Estill, who had been researching the field since 1979. Today, Estill Voice Training is used around the world by singers, vocal coaches, actors, and speech therapists, particularly throughout Europe and the United States.
EVT is used by top performers, singers, and vocal coaches around the world.
EVT does not define one particular sound as “the good voice.” This makes it applicable to all vocal qualities and all singing styles, from rock and pop to classical music.
For example, if you are having difficulty producing a high note, there may be several different reasons depending on the individual.
The first step is to analyze why the difficulty is occurring. If, for example, a low laryngeal position is contributing to the problem, we explore what movements are needed and learn to understand them through both physical sensation and listening.
If the problem persists, we look for other possible causes. For example, the tongue may be pushing downward and interfering with the movement of the larynx. By identifying and addressing these individual factors, we can work toward a more efficient and controllable voice.
As an Estill-certified trainer, I have developed the ability to “listen to the voice through the throat” as part of my training. This allows me to identify and analyze the causes of vocal difficulties and suggest practical ways to improve your voice, together with an appropriate practice plan to help you move toward the sound you want.
My lessons are not only based on the knowledge and experience I have gained through Estill.
You can also learn more deeply about your own voice and develop a better understanding of how it works.
